02 / The legacy

The rooms
made the story.

KIZALSA’s history is best understood through the rooms that welcomed the dance. Over the years, the experience has moved through hotels, lounges, malls, gardens, and purpose-built social spaces across Accra.

From Mövenpick Accra and Soho Accra to Bedouin Accra, HB Lounge Accra, ANC Mall Accra, Prestige Suites Hotel, Alisa Hotel, Plot 7 Accra, and HQ Afropolitan Garden, each venue added another chapter to the social-dance life we were building.

The story also includes collaborations and public-facing partnerships such as Joy 99.7 FM and Vodafone. Hundreds of students have come through our learning programmes, and thousands of people have shared our events. The next chapter is a global Afropolitan lifestyle experience with Accra at its heart.

An active four-week programme for learning the language of social dance, building confidence, and entering the KIZALSA room with intention. Sessions run Sundays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at HQ Afropolitan Garden.
